Product description
Honeybees make Bee Pollen from the pollen of flowers and trees. The bees feed the young bees in the hive with it. It is considered one of nature's most complex, nourishing foods as it contains nearly all nutrients required by humans. Bee Pollen is rich in proteins (approximately 40% protein) and vitamins, including B-complex, free amino acids, and folic acid.
Bee pollen is a complete food and contains many elements that products of animal origin do not possess. Bee pollen is richer in protein than any animal source. It contains more amino acids than beef, eggs, or cheese of equal weight. About half of its protein is in the form of free amino acids that are ready to be used directly by the body.
How to consume Bee Pollen?
A spoonful of Bee Pollen at breakfast can be added to your favourite granola, cereals or sprinkled on yoghurt with fresh fruits. If you like juicing or smoothies a teaspoon of bee pollen can be added to your healthy drink. Fruit fibres (raw hemicellulose) reinforce the activity of the fresh pollen. Bee pollen is recommended to be consumed with meals, it is more effective especially together with fruits.
You'll be pleased to know that beekeepers are able to remove pollen from hives without harming the bees or disturbing their routine.
We air dry our Raw Bee Pollen at a low temperature (around 30C) to maximise its nutritious value.
It is recommended to store it dry and cool place, protected from humidity.
Bee pollen consumption may cause an allergic reaction in people with a bee sting, honey or strong pollen allergies. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Not suitable for children under 1 year of age.
