Over the last 10 years, German football has had a large influence on the European game. At the heart of this has been the work of Jürgen Klopp, he has seen success in both Germany and England by playing a very unique and highly celebrated style of football. Klopp’s methods of Gegenpressing and his self-proclaimed ‘Heavy metal approach’ have provided football with a high-pressing and high-entertainment approach.

The book looks to fully understand the history of Jürgen Klopp and the background that built the man we see today. The book will then look to understand the influences around Klopp and who might have created and sculpted the coach we see today. The book also looks to understand the tactical model of Klopp both in and out of possession, as well as his views on both the defensive and offensive transition. The book also includes a very popular bank of sessions to try and help coaches develop that world-famous Gegenpressing, as well as the ability to press the opponent in different shapes, and lock the opponent into the defensive third. The sessions will specifically look at creating the model and how to train to allow the players to match the physical demand that is needed when playing at such a high intensity.
