It is our inspiration on the Traditional England Rugby Shirt. In 1913 England Rugby team won theGrand Slamfor the first time. Remarkably, they only conceded one score during the entire tournament and that became a goal scored by Ireland. This still remains a record for any Grand Slam-winning team. \n \nTwo great England teams have achievedback-to-back Grand Slamsin the Championship. Firstly in 1923 a certainWJA Dave Davies, who not only won against theFrench in Paris but also celebrated with his honeymoon. England was formidable, led by the outstanding Wavell Wakefield a No.8 of pace and power. Having defeatedWales, Ireland and Scotland - England defeated a stubborn French team by 12-3 and who else but Daviess finished the game with a finely struck drop goal. \n \nThe following year 1924Wavell Wakefieldthe most outstanding Forward in the tournament not only led the team to successive Grand Slams, but this was the third in fouryears having won in 1921. With Wakefield pulling the strings it wasCarston Catchesidebenefitting scoring in all four games.
