For around 10 years, we had a holiday villa near Bodrum (Ancient Halicarnassus). I’ve always loved Greece and Turkey, especially the rich history that both countries are abundant with. I’m also a huge lover of the coast and sea, which often appear in my work.

It was May, and I had traveled to Turkey with three friends to check on the villa and enjoy a bit of a holiday together. While there, I decided to shoot a Gulet boat from the hotel rooftop, which overlooked Gumbet Bay.

I dragged one of my friends out of bed at 4:30 am to help film the shoot and to hunt for a morning cup of tea—well, you have to get your priorities in order, right?

This image sums up Turkey for me in one frame. It includes one of the beautiful Gulet sailing boats that are found all around the Turkish coast, the distinct Minaret of a Mosque, distant mountains, and the stunning coastline.
