Hugo Boss launched Boss Number One in 1985 as an aromatic fougere fragrance for men. Boss Number One opens up with refreshing composition of grapefruit, lemon, basil, bergamot, juniper, caraway, apple and Artemisia then moves onto wild floral cocktail blend of sage, jasmine, orris root, rose, geranium, lavender, lily-of-the-valley and sweet honey then finishes the scent with smooth musk with cinnamon, smokey, patchouli, cedar, amber, oakmoss and sandalwood. The notes behind the fragrance were created by Pierre Wargnye. Top notes: Grapefruit, basil, lemon, juniper, bergamot, caraway, green apple and Artemisia. Heart notes: Sage, jasmine, orris root, rose, geranium, lavender and lily-of-the-valley and honey. Base notes: Musk, cinnamon, smokey, patchouli, cedar, amber, oakmoss and sandalwood
