Using Liquid Dyes

Adding liquidyes to your wax is very simple, each bottle has a dropper fitting and you simply add a droplet at a time until you reach your desired colour. For the best results add a droplet, mix and then put a little wax from your mix onto a piece of paper and allow to cool. Adding a full squirt of dye we advise will be too much colour unless you are colouring kilograms of wax and have performed this before.

Natural waxes do not give a jet black finish - the finish is the darkest of grey an dark blends of all colours can produce a frosted effect.

We always advise to take care when working with dye as having any on your fingers will transfer onto other things you may touch. For this reason we advise to have a paper towel with white spirit to clean your hands after handling the dye or alternatively use disposable gloves.

Liquidyes is also pantone consistent with all dye colours to ensure there are no differences between batches - you can confidently buy liquidyes 12 months apart and the receipe of dye droplets to wax will provide the same results.
