Another lovely fabric in stock at Minerva, this Dupion is ideal for dressmaking. All fabric is cut from the roll and available to order by the metre. •Dupion fabric is characterized by its slightly coarse texture with slubs, which are natural bumps formed during weaving when the yarn thickens or twists. Originally made from silk fibers, it is now also produced using synthetic materials like polyester. Known for its tight weave, lustrous surface, and crisp, firm handle, Dupion is ideal for tailoring and creating structured garments.
•This is a lovely light weight fabric ideal for dressmaking. This fabric is available in a great variety of colours and weighs approximately 90 grams per square metre.
•Suggested Washing Instructions:Hand wash recommended. Please allow 10% shrinkage for all fabrics to be on the safe side and always test a sample first to find the most suitable way to wash your chosen fabrics.
•Approx Width: 137cm / 54" - Our fabrics are cut off the roll and will always be sent in one continuous length. If for any reason we cannot send your fabric in one piece we will contact you to discuss the options.
•For all fabrics we advise washing before making up in the same manner as you would with subsequent washes (including drying methods) to remove any shrinkage
