It features a sharp metallic crystal with gold lustre and flashes of blue-violet iridescence, resting against a patch of pale calcite. Pieces like this are hard to come by from the Chivor mining district. Most pyrite from the region is a by-product of emerald mining and rarely survives intact, especially with this kind of shape and surface quality.
