That’s why we do things differently…
No roasting for us, we craft at low temperatures to protect the heat sensitive cacao polyphenols (healthy plant compounds). Super good.
We buy cacao directly from farmer’s co-ops in Ecuador, paying more than the fair trade recommended price. Super ethical.
We add carefully considered, organic ingredients to make rich, indulgent chocolate. Super tasty.
After all, if you’re going to make something, you might as well make it super, right?

VEGAN CHOCOLATE BAR: Our deliciously rich vegan dark chocolate bar is made using the finest-flavoured, unroasted and organic Ecuadorian cacao which gives it deep chocolatey notes, with a touch of caramel-tasting, unrefined coconut sugar for a little sweetness. Sounds amazing, right?! Well there’s more… Our chocolate is gently and carefully crafted at low temperatures to help preserve all of the healthy properties of the cacao. The perfect vegan treat to satisfy that sweet tooth!
DAIRY & GLUTEN FREE: Made with all-natural, plant-based ingredients, our vegan chocolate is completely free from dairy and certified vegan by the Vegan Society. And all of our chocolate contains absolutely no gluten. Ombar gluten free chocolate bars are also enriched with a healthy dose of live cultures - we add billions of our favourite live culture (Lactobacillus Acidophilus) to every bar of Ombar 72% Cacao.
RAW CACAO: The cacao we use is sourced from Ecuador; the country’s rich and diverse climate produces some of the best tasting cacao in the world. Most chocolate is made by roasting cacao (the main ingredient in chocolate) at high heat, which could damage the heat sensitive cacao polyphenols (super healthy plant compounds). But, at Ombar, our cacao goes through a low-temp process meaning it stays absolutely choc-full of all of the goodness that nature intended! Plus, cacao contains Manganese (an essential nutrient) which means that every one of our bars is a source of Manganese too.
ORGANIC & FAIRTRADE: Our chocolate is certified organic by the Organic Food Federation which means that no damaging chemicals are involved in the production of our cacao or other ingredients. The cacao and coconut sugar we use are both certified fair trade by Fair for Life; our cacao is sourced directly from farmer’s co-ops in Ecuador and we’re proud to pay more for it than even the fair trade recommended price. We think that’s only right!
