Year-Round Planting

Sow these seeds any time of the year. Ensure the water temperature is kept above 16°C and provide plenty of sunlight for optimal growth.

Seed Preparation

To prepare the seeds for planting, gently break a small part of the sunken end, being careful not to harm the embryo. Avoid peeling the seeds. (Refer to the provided image for guidance).

Germination Process

In summer, soak the seeds in water at a temperature between 20°C and 30°C. Place them indoors, changing the water twice a day. Within approximately one week, the seeds should begin to germinate. Once the seeds sprout, ensure they get plenty of sunlight and never allow them to dry out. In about two weeks, you should see healthy roots and 2 to 3 young lotus leaves developing.

Transplanting

Choose a suitable basin and fill it with half a basin of garden soil or unpolluted soil. Soak the soil with water, but do not add fertilizer for two weeks before transplanting. Carefully transplant each seedling into its own basin. After transplanting, ensure proper water levels (just below the lotus leaves).

Autumn and Winter Care

About 2-3 weeks after transplanting, apply proper fertilizer. Maintain the temperature above 16°C to encourage growth.
