SnoozeShade was invented by a mum just like you!The first SnoozeShade (for prams) was invented by British mum Cara Sayer when she became frustrated with throwing a blanket over her daughter's stroller. She couldn't find anything that helped her little one sleep when they were out.In 2010, she invented SnoozeShade Original for her baby's pram and this grew into a range of baby sun and sleep shades for the infant car seat, pushchair and cots, travel cots and cot beds.

Is it 100% blackout? We are often asked if it's completely blackout - the answer is no.It wouldn't be possible for the fabric to be air-permeable and block all light - but it does block 94% of light. Some parents have held it up to the light and think it doesn't look dark enough - but believe me it blocks 94% of light (it's been tested multiple times) and we've had many tens of thousands of baby nap avoiders give in to the power of a SnoozeShade.
The main reason why babies, who usually need complete blackout, do sleep with a SnoozeShade is because the fabric blurs visual stimuli to such an extent that babies are bored back to sleep. It also makes it dark enough for the production of melatonin to occur which is nature's signal that it's time to snooze.
•My baby is standing? Can I still use it?
The answer is - it depends on your little one.We have parents still happily using our travel cot cover once their child is standing. We've had other smaller children show their disapproval of not being able to march around their travel cot.It very much depends on the individual child. It's not unsafe to use it as your child gets bigger and many little ones like the feeling of a 'den' that they get.We always suggest you try it and see how you get on.
Let baby get used to it If you plan to use SnoozeShade away from home, we suggest that (if you can) you use it practice with it at home first. Most babies are fine but you may find your little one adapts easier to it if used at home before a trip rather than if used for the first time in a strange environment.
