JJ (Jonette Jewellery) Pewter Dancing Pigs Brooch featuring a dancing happy pigs brooch in pewter. A recognisable style from JJ's whimsical range of animal brooches, this piece is adorable with one pig in a bow tie and the other in pearls. It measures 5.5cm high and 4.5cm at its widest point and they weigh 19g. It is signed on the back '©JJ'. A fun and collectible piece.
Jonette Jewelry Company, or more commonly known as JJ, was established by Abraham Lisker in Providence, Rhode Island in 1935 and operated until 2006. Originally it was known as The Providence Jewelry Company, which was changed to Lisker & Lisker, and after WWII the company later returned as Jonette Jewelry.
JJ is well known for it's novelty jewellery, such as its animal designs and its Christmas themed jewellery. During the 1980's JJ produced two specialty lines a) Artifacts, a line of novelty pins, and b) Santa Fe, a line of American western jewellery.
