A set of 7 shades of carded New Zealand wool.
Available in Pastel, Bright or Mud sets. Select from a drop down menu.
Total weight approximately 140g, 20g of each shade.
Used for needle felting 3D and 2D, wet felting, embellishments and other crafts. This wool is a lovely wool to work with.

About the wool:
•Carded New Zealand wool from Thefeltbox is one of the best wools for needle felting out there. It comes as carded wool batting where fibres are already mixed, making it easier to felt.
•This wool is a blend of sheep wools from New Zealand with thickness approx. 27 microns. It comes in a brilliant range of colours and is very easy to use. In this range we have over 100 vibrant shades. Please look at our other items.
•Our carded wool can be used as core wool and as finishing wool.
•Short staple length - great, bulky carded wool well suited to 3D needle felting projects.
•This wool is a lovely wool to work with.
•The wool included is batting NOT wool roving. All fibres are intermixed. If you are looking for combed tops, in long continuous strands, to use as hair or long fur- look at wool rovings instead. Our carded wool will not be suitable for this specific purpose.
•Please don’t start with Merino wool tops as these are hard to work with and can put you off.
•As a surface you can use any cushion or a sponge (We sell these too). You can use an old piece of cloth on the top to protect your surface.
IMPORTANT NOTEs: Although we take great care to make sure our photographs illustrate the colour of each wool shade, your screen/monitor settings may affect how it appears to you.
*The wool is carefully washed before carding, however you may still find some grass bits that are perfectly normal for a natural product.
How to use:
Begin by roughly shaping wool as required. The more you compress your wool the less time it will take to needle felt. Place your wool onto the surface. Using the coarse needle, repeatedly insert it into the wool, shaping as you go. Keep peeling your work off the foam as you go so it doesn’t get stuck. When it becomes difficult to insert the needle, swap for a finer one and continue until your work is a firm shape.
