Mechanism of Action:

Disruption of Microtubule Formation:

FENBENDAZOLE binds to beta-tubulin, a key protein involved in forming microtubules, which are essential components of the parasite's cytoskeleton.

This binding prevents the polymerization of tubulin into microtubules, disrupting processes such as nutrient absorption, intracellular transport, structural integrity of cells.

Energy Deprivation:

By interfering with microtubule formation, FENBENDAZOLE impairs the parasite's ability to take in glucose and other nutrients. This leads to an energy crisis within the parasite, causing starvation and eventual death.

Selective Effect:

FENBENDAZOLE specifically targets the beta-tubulin of helminths, which is structurally different from that of mammals. This makes it safe for the host when used at recommended doses.

Spectrum of Activity:
