The MultiSensory Cubes are a set of 5 different story cubes designed to provide a sensory experience for people with sensory needs. Each cube is made of an 8cm square cube of foam, an internal wooden rattle, and interesting fabric prints to touch and talk about. The fabric story cubes use themed prints to help support story telling, shopping lists, or verbal games such as "I went to the shop and bought...". The "English garden" and "fruit and vegetable" prints were chosen for both older users as well as children, to generate conversation and as a visual prompt for activities.
The cubes are designed to stimulate a sensory experience through touch, sound, and movement. You can roll or shake them to hear the rattle or discuss the colors and the different themed prints, or perhaps count the number of fish or planets. The wooden rattle in the cubes provides a tactile and auditory stimulation for people with sensory needs. The different themed prints in the cubes provide visual stimuli for people with sensory needs and can be used to generate conversation and as a visual prompt for activities.
The cubes are not a toy and are not aimed at babies or young children. Adult supervision is required when used by vulnerable people. The cubes are designed to be used by people with sensory needs, such as people with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, neurodivergence, and ADHD or children.
