It's important to use the right type of shea butter, and the organic, unrefined type is by far the most popular. Extracted from the shea nut, Fresh Skin's organic shea boasts a rich, creamy texture and aroma, and is naturally high in cinnamon acid.

Shea butter creates a breathable, water-resistant film on the skin offering some protection from UV rays, and therefore is a popular ingredient in homemade sun creams.​

It is used extensively for many cosmetic products for it's moisturising properties it is also a component in salves and lotions. The moisturising properties of shea butter make it ideal for use as a massage butter and a component in lip balms, facial moisturisers and bath oils.
