Product description
Fascinating thistle-like perennials with an electric blue buzz! This pollinator magnet boasts a beautiful contrast in colour that really draws the eye.
'Neptune's Gold' Sea Holly is hardy and something a bit different for this year's planting scheme, as clusters of tiny flowers form thistle blooms, each surrounded by a ring of outstretching spiked leaves and bracts, with silvery blue bases and golden edges.
Stems rise from this sun-lover with yellowing foliage and nectar-rich rounded flowers, which are known to attract beneficial insects to the garden, appearing from mid to late summer.
Architectural flowerheads last well, holding firm on the plant into winter for cold season interest, but can also be snipped, dried, and included in ornate vase displays. To dry, simply pick stems just as the flower clusters fully open, before hanging them upside down in a warm, dark place for two to three weeks.
Naturally compact, this variety is ideal for border fronts in full sun, while also performing in pots and containers, combining with other summer perennials for potted shows to remember!
Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant.
