Common name Zulu plant, Zulu giant or Toad plant. Native to the desert regions of South Africa and Tanzania. The plant is made up of multiple upright, ribbed columns and is very soft to touch, no spines, despite it's appearance. In fact, it's form, dare I say, is typically cactus and therefore looks so good placed with other cacti and succulents but equally is a stunning, stand alone specimen. Oh and did I mention the flower? Star-shaped, yellow and stunning! Made up of 5 petals and reaching over 20 cm in diameter. Let's not talk too much about it's pungent scent though. This unusual plant is so easy to keep. Thriving on neglect, just place it in a relatively warm, bright spot and keep watering to a minimum.
