Do I have to subscribe to the cloud service?

No, the cloud is optional.

The camera can record events(up to 12 seconds) in the last 24 hours without a card or cloud subscription. If you need to record longer videos, please insert a micro SD card or subscribe to the cloud.

The camera won't connect.

Please long-press the reset button until the camera makes a sound and the light starts flashing red, then try to connect it again.
