Manual focus F-mount SLR camera released by Nikon in 1959. It was the first camera to use the F mount and has interchangeable accessories such as prisms, grips, winders, and focusing screens. The camera combines many uncommon features of the era, including mirror lock-up, depth-of-field preview, and an instant return mirror. The F was arguably the first truly successful SLR system and managed to take a significant portion of the professional market away from rangefinder cameras. This Photomic model has the T, TN, or FTN prism attached, allowing for TTL light metering.
