Sushi Nori is dried and, roasted seaweed used to wrap rice when making sushi. Not only is it rich in 'natural umami' flavour, it can be used in many ways beyond traditional sushi rolls! It's delicious simply torn into strips and used in salads or noodle dishes.
Roasted Seaweed is called Sushi Nori or Yaki Nori in Japanese. It is used for rolled sushi such as California Roll and Hand Roll Sushi. Roasted Seaweed has a mild but distinctive seafood flavor. It is thin and crisp when it's dry, but somewhat chewy when moistened.
Nori seaweed, the best known seaweed in Japanese cuisine, stands out for its small, thin size and because it changes colour from black to green when it has been cooked. It is a seaweed that comes from cultivation and is dried in the sun or in the oven on bamboo mats for use in sushi.
