Prized for its unique shape and stunning variegation, the Variegated String of Pearls is an ideal addition for plant enthusiasts or those renowned for forgetting to water their green babies! The spherical leaves store water, owing to the dry desert environment of the Cape Provinces of South Africa; its native homeland.

~Care Requirements: Intermediate~

•Light: Bright light, with some direct light. A non-south-facing windowsill is perfect in Spring & Summer, or south-facing during the Autumn and Winter months. Grow lights are an excellent alternative to supplement sunlight.

•Watering: Water sparingly - Allow the soil to completely dry out before watering; once every fortnight is a rough guide. Prefers watering from the bottom, using a saucer. Prone to root rot, so overwatering is a big no no!

•Environment: Well draining soil is preferred. Our reccomendation is coconut coir and perlite, or you can purchase our custom succulent mix - exclusively designed to nurture your Senecio Rowleyanus Variegata and make caring for it a breeze. Plant in a pot with drainage holes to further reduce the risk of root rot. If the pot does not have drainage holes, mist instead of watering.

•Food: Luckily, fertilising the Senecio Rowleyanus Variegata is not essential to a thriving plant. A good quality potting mix (such as our own!), should provide all the nutrients required. However, during the Summer months, a weakened fertiliser may be used to bolster growth.

~Cutting Information~

This listing is for a cutting of (part of a) live plant, for the purpose of propagating a new plant from it. All plant cuttings are supplied in moist tissue to prevent drying during the plant’s ordeal in the postage system. When you receive your cutting, remove the tissue and:

•Unrooted: Cut a couple of mm off the stem and place in water to begin the propagation process. We recommend using our Rooting Potion, which comes with a Sprouting Guarantee, to ensure propagation is successful. Place in a sunny spot and wait until a good number of roots have sprouted before transferring into potting mix. If you need further advice, please reach out!

•Rooted: Place rooted stem into slightly damp, well-draining potting mix and pop in a sunny spot to flourish.

~Postage Information~

Our current processing time for orders is 1-3 working days, beginning the day an order is placed if before 12pm on a working day, or the following working day if after 12pm.

We do our best to be kind to our planet. Therefore, we try to re-use postage boxes wherever possible or we use compostable and/or recyclable materials. This means that the outer packaging of your parcel may have been visibly re-used. If your package is a gift, please let us know and we will ensure that new packaging is used. ~Additional Information~

Unfortunately, due to the complex and unique nature that is plant propagation, we do not guarantee that cuttings will sprout roots or successfully develop into the happy and healthy plants that we hope they will.

All cuttings supplied are inspected for health and will be packaged as safely as possible. However, if your cutting has arrived in poor condition, we will replace it at no additional cost. If this occurs, please take a photograph on the day of delivery in the original packaging and send this to us.
