This evergreen tree is indigenous to the West Indies and South America and reaches about 10 metres in height (approximately 30 feet) and begins to produce fruit in its third year.
The oil is yellow brown in colour and carries a combination scent of cloves, juniper berries, cinnamon and pepper (this is the reason it is also referred to as Allspice) - of these scents, clove dominates.
Pure Essential Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin
A patch test is always recommended before use to see if your skin is sensitive to the product
