Product description
Our beautiful Aged White Balsamic vinegar is light, fruity & full of fruit flavours. Naturally sweet, we don't add a grain of sugar to this balsamic either, resulting in a clean, fresh-tasting dressing. It's sweet with a hint of creaminess & almost-butterscotch backnotes.
Although less common than the darker balsamic vinegars, the White Balsamic range is incredible, with bright, fresh summery flavours busting through.
We're also please to announce it is a coveted GREAT TASTE AWARD WINNER! In a true blind-tasting, the judges of this most prestigious of awards had this to say:
•Clear, bright, fruity with a well-judged balance of acidity & sweetness.
•Versatile in its balance & mildness, we liked the grapey-fruitiness behind this beautiful white balsamic.
•Light, clean-looking dressing with subtle aroma; the flavour is clean & fresh.
•Well balanced with the sweetness & acidity to give an interesting complexity & length.
A lot of people haven't even heard of a white balsamic, and even the ones that have haven't tasted one this good!
Add a drizzle to any salad - especially goat's cheese - couscous or quinoa, fish, prawns & more. Drizzle a few drops on sautéed greens, especially asparagus or French beans, as you serve. It even works on ice cream!
Whilst not as thick as our 'traditional' aged range, it's noticeably thicker & more syrupy than any we've seen. Just a few drops will add a zing to salads, fish, seafood (especially scallops or tuna) or a fresh fruit salad.
It won't caramelise as easily as the traditional (dark) balsamic vinegars so it's versatile enough to use in cooking. A drizzle when cooking pancetta or roast pork will add an extra dimension of flavour that works beautifully, or use to balance a ceviche for a lightness & clean taste that is difficult to achieve using a cheap, sugary-fruit vinegar.
Try a shot in a prosecco or a tall glass with ice & soda water for a refreshing long drink!
Aged for years in barrels until just the right balance of sweetness & viscosity is attained.. No added sugar, caramel (E150) or thickeners. That's what sets us apart from many others.
Comes with a 'Recipe Tips' leaflet with lots more recipes on the website.
