Product description
Finally! You can grow bamboo in your garden without the dreaded fear they can strike into the hearts of gardeners. While most bamboo varieties are very invasive, seeming to 'take-over' the garden, this dwarf 'Fountain Bamboo' is a very well behaved guest indeed!
Fargesia is one of the best types, as it is short and boasts a number of small canes, so is far more delicate in appearance than the more thuggish members of the family. In fact, juicy new shoots are the stuff pandas dream of!
Relatively new, this dwarf bamboo produces masses of culms, as the new shoots are called, which have a rusty tinge. They then green up and unfurl with masses of tiny thin green leaves, which are evergreen so remain full of colour all year round. The canes are very slender and thin, so they gently arch over, hence the common name of 'Fountain Bamboo'.
Spectacular in big pots on the patio, and ideal for smaller gardens. Try growing as a neat, dense, and easy-care non-trim hedge, without exceeding a height of 2m across many years. Just don't let them dry out in hot and dry summer conditions! Plant where the sun can shine through the canes.
Supplied as an established plant in a 5L pot, ready to plant.
