We always recommend using a drainage layer before adding any substrate to any terrarium so that those juicy roots have some distance between them and the reservoir of water beneath.
This mix is applicable to epiphytic tree lovers and terrestrial ground dwellers alike! This mix also does not rely on sphagnum to maintain its moisture but rather the marrying of worm casting and coco coir.
