The Ronnie Rig has really taken the carp fishing world by storm in the last few years becoming one of the most used pop up rig presentations in the UK. I personally use it in a lot in my own fishing. It presents perfectly every time, is tangle free and will re-set itself if picked-up by birds or nuisance species. Fished with either a pop-up or wafter, the high success rate of this rig is due to its incredible responsiveness. Plus, as the hook is mounted on a swivel, it offers superb hookbait movement which even the wariest of carp struggle to deal with.

Materials

Curve Shank Hooks

Curve shank hooks are one of the most used styles of hook in the carp fishing world. The curved design allows for aggressive hook positioning which in turn provides a great hook hold time and time again.

These hooks are made from a High Carbon Steel which gives them superior strength compared to many other hooks on the market. These hooks are double PTFE (Teflon) coated which helps give the hook a silky-smooth finish for quicker hook penetration.

These hooks are available in 4, 6, 8 and 10 in both Barbless and Micro Barbed.

Korda N-Trap Soft

Korda N-Trap Soft 20lb is used for the Hooklink material as this reflects no light and is PERFECT in many different situations. Due to the soft nature of this Hooklink it perfectly lays on the contours of the lake giving you excellent presentation! This is available in 3 colours which include Gravel Brown, Weedy Green and Silt. Make sure when ordering you match to the lakebed you will be fishing over!

Shrink Tubing

Shrink tubing is used on this rig to create a neat presentation and can be used to create aggressive angles on rigs to improve hooking potential

Shrink tubing comes in brown, green and black to suit the colour selected!

Spinner Swivel

Spinner swivels or also known as quick change swivels are designed for use in Ronnie rigs. These are connected to the curve shank hook and covered with shrink tubing to help keep the hook set at the correct angle

Hook Bait Mounts

Bait Screw – Bait Screws used are 12mm in length and are anti glare to allow perfect presentation of your chosen hookbait with more natural movement. Bait screws are becoming ever more popular due to the ease of use but also providing excellent presentation.

Micro Ring Swivel – Micro Ring swivels are an extremely versatile, they allow total 360 degree movement, perfect for use with the Chod, 360, Stiff or Combi rigs. These can also be used for joining hooklink materials to create combi rigs

Hook Bead

Hook beads are used to keep your hookbait mount on the shank of the hook. They come in Green, Brown and Silt to match your colour selected.

Anti Tangle Sleeves

Anti tangle sleeves are in my opinion ones of the most crucial parts of the modern-day carp rigs. They are designed, as the name suggests, to prevent line tangles. These sleeves allow you to fish in confidence knowing your hookbait and rig are not in a tangled mess!
