Cladophora aegagropila - Marimo moss balls!

These gorgeous little balls that resemble are the easiest pets you will ever keep! They can be found in a number of lakes and rivers in Japan, Canada and Iceland. They are formed when the long threads of this species of algae clump together to form a velvety ball. These guys are simple care and look really stunning - they come in their own glass jar that is filled with gravel, water and topped with a cork lid!

LOVES- Fresh water. Top up as the water level drops- tap water is perfect! Keep in a light spot but with no direct sunlight

HATES-A dirty environment- every now and again use a bottle brush or a toothbrush to gently clean any dirt or algae that may grow on the inside. To clean the moss balls you can gently squeeze them but avoid doing this too frequently.
