Jurassic fish bone from gyrosteus mirablis.

This is a piece of fossilised bone from the now extinct species of fish named gyrosteus mirablis. This piece is around 180 million years old and found on the Yorkshire coast by myself. These were quite similar to modern day sturgeon and grew to quite impressive sizes. Ive prepared this piece and removed the matrix that surrounded the fossil for millions of years.
