We set you a protein goal for multiple reasons.
Protein keeps you feeling fuller for longer and therefore helps keep on top of your hunger levels, it has a higher TEF (thermic effect of food) and is essential for maximising muscle growth and for muscle repair.
Good sources of protein include lean meat, white fish, beans, peas and lentils and low-fat dairy products, but always check the nutritional labels. Look for foods with at least 10g of protein per 100g and try and incorporate high-protein foods into every meal.
Do I need protein powder to hit my protein goals?
Now, we'll always say that if you can hit your protein goals eating real food then always do that first. However, if you constantly find yourself falling short, then using protein powder to hit your daily protein goal is a really quick, tasty and easy way to do it.
It’s a great way to add a boost of protein to regular food too.
You can mix protein powder with almost anything to boost the protein content.
