Lots of deep scratches on the screen. When I turned the watch on a red charging light showed. I’ve put it on charge and there’s no difference. Item does not work

The watch was at 73% battery life in setting and died 2.5 hours after full charge to me that’s very bad and shouldn’t be sold I did read other reviews which said the same plus more but I never had a Apple Watch so wanted to try it but sadly I’ve had to start the return process
